“…[W]e no longer control our own democratic system. Puppet candidates have rigged themselves into office and manipulated our government to hand corporations the keys to the kingdom. We the People are now the rabble outside the gates, reduced to begging the rulers within to please be just a little less ruthless…

“Our elections have been bought or stolen for decades, but the People are only now waking up…But whether elections – or politicians – are literally stolen, or simply bought (including Barack Obama), the outcome is the same.

“The democratic system itself is rigged against us – and this rigging is not just another Progressive issue, like ending the Wars on Terror and Drugs, or securing universal healthcare, or getting the 100,000 toxic chemicals out of our bodies, or preventing Monsanto from taking over our food and seed supply…

“We must first outlaw the use of riggable computerized voting machines and institute a public paper ballot count with appropriate procedure and oversight. We must demand full media access for candidates. And we must threaten a full-blown Egypt-style revolution if Citizen’s United is not immediately overturned.”

  1. okay I read the full article now and am disappointed. They essentially still call for the Right Candidate — even with full admission that elections can be hacked without detection.

oh, btw, Victoria’s father and uncle wrote a book about hacked elections in Florida — from the 70s I think — I read the book. They both mysteriously died.

back to the article — to say that David Swanson is “more radical” than MoveOn.org is not saying much. It’s probably Orwellian to use the term “radical” when talking about David, and it’s an insult to radicals to do so.

Despite their accurate assessment that unity is required to regain control of our nation, the notion that it must be done in time for the 2012 elections is pure and simple psyops or complete ignorance.

To think we can wrest control without unifying with conservatives and libertarians is to underestimate the enemy state.

To drain activist energy by calling them to get involved in the VOTE is self defeating nonsense.

Again, this is the impotent Left making impotent plans.

  2. I suspect OCA featured the quote they did because it’s the strongest part of the article. Defining the problem candidly is a big deal but backing up off of the solution, while understandable, is getting tediously common. ” the impotent Left making impotent plans” A friend sent me an Obama blurb about tonight’s Repug debate and I didn’t have any qualm about sending him back a blurb about Ron Paul LOL . Will anyone else bring all the troops home and dismantle the Fed? ??

We know the system is rigged and rotten. So how could it be possible to move the furniture around and expect a total remodel? Obama enervated Liberals by scamming them- they feel understandably foolish. WHY aren’t they angry??

    • yeah — too true. Not angry enuf to give up on the corrupt system, yet, tho.

the early American radicals ran into this all the time – ergo that quote about wearing your chains lightly:

“If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”—Samuel Adams
