State Department offers to attack France for Monsanto

with one comment

Max Keiser and co-host, Stacy Herbert discuss the US State Department’s planned retaliation against France for daring to reject Monsanto’s toxic GMO corn seeds. This operation was revealed by WikiLeaks but has not been reported by the media.

Also discussed are the economic dangers of GMO agriculture, and Monsanto’s ability to subvert the US government to do their dirty work via placing their operatives in government oversight positions. In the second half of the show, Max talks to author and blogger, James Howard Kunstler, about shopping stampedes and revolutionary times.

Sadly Keiser is a bit hyper, but the info is still very important. See also:

Economic Know-Nothingism: Punish the Poor, Protect the Wealthy

Their wars and tax cuts created the deficit. Now they want to profit from it and make scapesgoats of the poor.

THE POLITICAL CONSEQUENCES OF ECONOMIC KNOW-NOTHINGISM…. Four months before the midterm elections, “virtually every Republican” in Congress agrees that the country can’t afford $30 billion in extended unemployment benefits, but it can afford $678 billion in tax cuts for the wealthy. Rep. Joe Barton’s (R-Texas) apology to BP instantly became a key moment in this cycle, as did Rep. John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) dismissal of the importance of the crash of 2008.

But this new issue is a development to build an entire campaign around.

This week, the Senate Republican leadership made one of the single dumbest policy arguments imaginable: policymakers shouldn’t even try to pay for massive tax cuts for the wealthy, because they pay for themselves. GOP officials see the overwhelming evidence that Bush’s tax policies helped produce a massive deficit, but they reject it, preferring to believe a ridiculous fantasy.

Chevron Using Six Public Relations Firms to Discredit Indigenous Groups In $27.3 Billion Environmental Case In Ecuador

Lobbyists – Mac McLarty, John Breaux, Trent Lott, Mickey Kantor, Carla Hills and Others – Charged With Misrepresenting Facts

Amazon Defense Coalition

Washington, DC – Chevron has retained at least twelve public relations firms and lobbyists to discredit claims of Amazon indigenous groups on the eve of an expected multi-billion dollar judgment against the oil giant in an environmental lawsuit in Ecuador, according to representatives of the tribes in the U.S.

Although Chevron is near the top of the list of highest-spending lobbyists in Washington, the campaign seems to be backfiring. Politico, one of the most influential publications on Capitol Hill, reported this week that Chevron’s lobbying was “drawing fire from environmentalists, media ethicists, state pension funds, New York’s attorney general, members of Congress, and even Barack Obama when he was a Senator.”
